The Brigade joined the Arena League in 2006, a year ahead of schedule due to New Orleans shutting down operations because of Hurricane Katrina. In such case, the first year Brigade was made up mostly of players from the VooDoo. The following season, Kansas City was treated like a traditional franchise and they reached the playoffs for the first time.
i dont like this logo at all. its too forced, probably because they were rushed as mentioned above, but still, this doesny scream 'brigade' to me, and it took me a while to even notice there was a football there. i think they need a serious change of this logo asap.

Hey Tony Kukoc, I couldn't agree with you more
It's a little too choppy in my opinion.
Yea, really has potential, but this is not that great.
they should've called their team the kansas city carnivores
The only reason we're called the Brigade is cuz of Whiteman Air Force Base. That's the only base in the world to hold B-2 stealth bombers. That's how we get the name and the logo
This logo would be better if they added some kick to it
jaredallen6958 .. thanks for the info! always makes things easier when there is history behind the logo
Brigade? How is a Stealth Bomber a brigade?
it's not conveying that a single bomber is a quote unquote "brigade"... They meant the the brigade as in the 21 B-2 bombers at Whiteman Airforce base as I mentioned earlier.
Ah!THAT explains the logo! Thanx! When they first showed up,I wondered about that airplane. And now I can see that the blue in the background is a football.I thought it was a rendition of shockwaves!
That's why God invented Wikipedia.com was to answer questions like these...It's all right there, if you type in "Kansas City Brigade"
Sweet logo.
Best logo in the AFL.
The Sprint Center was perfect for them, they had one of the biggest fan bases in the AFL, only being a team for 3 seasons. AFL1 came back, but sadly Kansas City didn't get their team back :(
I didn't get this one until I read jaredallen6958's comments. Now, I think it's cool. Love the sky blue and black.
This team will be back next year in the new AFL, which is not mentioned on this website.
Really? Hold on, let me check...
You'e right. The SaberCats and Soul are also joining. Personally, I could live without the brigade, but I love the SaberCats and the AFL needs more teams in the Northeast. They have none. The league is too west-happy if you ask me.
I'm expecting the Vigilantes to fold in the near future, by the way.
Yeah, I've never seen a league that is so Northeast light. That is where the best opportunity for future expansion exists. Buffalo, New York City, Pittsburgh, Boston, D.C. and maybe even Toronto could all support a team without affecting the other professional franchises in those markets. Then ya got Detroit and The Twin Cities. If this league is patient and has smart, non greedy people running things, there's no reason why it can't be it a success.
best team in afl
